Governor Chime desires industrialists to invest in the state, guarantees on tax harmonization

Governor Sullivan Chime of Enugu State states plans are underway to harmonize taxes in the state.

Chime, who said this during the ground breaking ceremony for the construction of Prima Industrial Bottling Plant, producer of LaCasera drink at Ezinato-Nsude in Udi council area of the state, called on investors to take the advantage of the tax harmonization.

He discussed that the harmonization was targeted at removing issues of multiply taxation which had remained obstacles to business.

The Governor, represented by the state Attorney General as well as commissioner for justice, Anthony Ani (SAN), invited other companies to take advantage of the conducive environment existing in the state and. locate their factories in the area.

Chime stated the administration had laid the ground work and built the necessary infrastructure for businesses to thrive, noting that recent developments such as the commencement of International flight at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport have improved the efforts.

He advised the community to show the investors hospitality, charging them to see the investment as their own, and therefore nurture as well as protect it at all times.

‘Attracting industries to invest in Enugu state will lead to rapid economic development that will create jobs for our youth as well as empower the overall population’, he said.

Earlier in his address, the Managing Director, Jotna Nigeria Ltd owners of the Prima Industrial Plc, Sushil R. Ramchandani thanked Governor Chime for giving such opportunity to the company.

He promised that the company would maintain all issues contained in the MoU signed with Ezinato-Nsude community through her land management committee on 3rd September, 2013.

Presenting 2 cheques to the community as part of the company’s commitments, Ramchandani stated N2.5 million is for community development project, while the Second cheque of N.5 million is for providing education opportunities to deserving indigenes.
